Welcome to Our Chapter
I am honored to lead the ASIS Boston Chapter this year and look forward to working with the chapter volunteer leaders to ensure a successful year for our members and the organizations they support. It is always an exciting year but even more so this year as the chapter celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The chapter began in 1958 with the efforts of a few dedicated security professionals who recognized a need for an organization that brought individuals together to share information and to promote the security profession. These individuals established the framework for an incredible chapter to grow and prosper to what it is today - a vibrant successful organization committed to providing education, networking and leadership opportunities for its approximately 900 members.
It is a challenge for all of us to continue the legacy established by the vision and strength of our “founding fathers.” The challenge can be met by members becoming volunteers, attend meeting and seminars, market chapter to peers, solicit and encourage new members, discuss the benefits of becoming a new member and promote the professional certification program.
The Executive Board and volunteer leaders are developing an exciting year with educational seminars, monthly meetings, Security Expo, you won’t want to miss a very different May meeting, public safety luncheon and a gala event in October celebrating our 50th anniversary. As the New Year begins, our goal is to revitalize our members, increase participation and seek new and innovative ways to grow and expand.
