K9s: Their Versatility from Security to Environmental Detection

Speaker Bio:

Hank Nolin, CPP, CAS, CHSIII, is a U. S. Army retired Master Sgt with over 27 years combined service as a Military Policeman and Public Affairs NCO. His civilian experience includes management positions with Globe and Pinkerton Security Agencies, and 12 years running his own guard agency in Florida.

For the past 12 years Hank has been involved in the training and utilization of explosive and narcotic detection K-9 teams worldwide. More recently, Hank has added environmental assistance dogs to his kennel. These dogs include mold and bedbug detection specialties.

Hank is a longtime ASIS International member, having served as Chair of the Substance Abuse Council, a member of the Law Enforcement Liaison Council and is the current Assistant Chair of the Transportation Security Council. His latest position is as a member of the Critical Infrastructure Working Group, and chairs the program committee for that group. Hank resides outside of Daytona Beach, Florida with his bride of 32 years, Jean, and about 25 dogs.

Chief Powatan Nolin is a five year old Yellow Labrador who is certified in explosive detection, and is responsible for two live-object device finds. This is Chief's 3rd presentation for an ASIS function.
